Micah Schmidt received his bachelor’s degree from K-State University in 2004 and furthered his education by acquiring the FINRA Series 66 securities registration in addition to Life and Health insurance licenses in Kansas and Missouri.

Prior to joining Prime Capital Investment Advisors, Micah was the operations and sales manager for a small business in Kansas City for almost 10 years. His passion for helping people develop meaningful financial strategies led him to join the PCIA team. Micah’s main area of concentration is creating and implementing financial plans for individuals along with corporate retirement plans.

Micah grew up in Valley Center, KS, and has lived in the Kansas City area for 11 years. As a man of faith, he enjoys investing his time in his wife and three young children, as well as shooting sports, basketball and soccer.

Micah says, “Everyone has a personal story, and I believe once you understand the WHY behind what you are doing with money, you can overcome negative beliefs and start to succeed.

“My story is an example of this. I grew up watching my parents live paycheck-to-paycheck, and we were always in debt. Even though I vowed never to live like that, after graduating from college I found myself exactly there—in steep student loan and credit card debt. I had little to no hope of getting out of that hole any time soon. However, the one thing my parents did teach me was sowing and reaping, tithing, and generosity. So even though I had little, I started my only plan – tithing/giving and building a debt snowball. That was it. I paid off all my debts in seven years, purchased a home for cash, saved up two years’ worth of income, and my wife was able to stay home and start our family. It is a matter of acknowledging the wisdom of God, financial planning, sticking to the plan, and most of all, having faith.

“Anyone can do this, and I want to help. I work with people of all ages and walks of life.

“I love seeing people gain confidence around a plan of action. Often, you know what to do, but you are just not sure how to do it. There is a plethora of information available online, but having a guide to help you navigate your financial journey is irreplaceable.
